GO_INNOVATION Residency program

Within the framework of the project “MILLE ANNI DI STORIA AL CENTRO DELL’EUROPA: BORGO CASTELLO CROCEVIA DI POPOLI E DI CULTURE” (PNRR funding – Next Generation EU, for PNRR pilot project M1C3 Measure 2 Investment 2. 1 line A – CUP F88F220000007), Netural Coop Impresa sociale is launching an open call aimed at social innovators from all over Europe who have developed projects in the field of sustainable tourism, culture, urban regeneration, environmental sustainability and who are interested in bringing the method and designs of their projects to the territory of the city of Gorizia.  

The social innovators’ residencies will take place from September 2024 to April 2025 at Casa Netural Gorizia, 19 Rastello Street, according to the following schedule:

• 3 residencies in 2024 (September – December)
• 3 residencies in 2025 (January – April)

Individual, paired and/or family innovators may participate.

Each residency will have a maximum duration of 45 days (1 ½ months).

The purpose of the residencies will be to foster the meeting and exchange of best practices of social innovators engaged in the development of innovative projects with local businesses, associations, and organizations in order to increase the awareness of local participants with respect to the resources available to them and with the prospect of enhancing them so as to develop new strategies for the development.

What do we ask of the innovators-in-residence?

To meet with the local community, the economic and institutional fabric, to share visions and experiences, and above all to collaborate with the area in defining new visions of development and new projects starting from the narrative of their own.

These meetings will be facilitated and scheduled in collaboration with Netural Coop Impresa Sociale.

Objectives

The residency project should pursue one or more of the following outputs:

• Generate the development of a collective creative process seeking to produce new planning and visions of development in the territory, involving businesses, citizens and Third Sector organizations.

• Train the territory, through strengthening the skills and abilities of the local realities involved through non-formal learning or the transmission of a methodology.
• Connect local realities, by developing local partnerships and collaborations between different actors in the territory on the issues covered by this call.
• Transform the social contexts involved, through the introduction of new working methods and inclusive and innovative processes.

What the project offers

To the selected innovators, the proposing organization will offer the following services, at no additional cost:

• Housing: social innovators in residence will live in Casa Netural Gorizia and will have a single, double or twin room (in case of a family also triple or quadruple) with kitchen and bathroom shared with any guests in the coliving house (maximum 2 people). They will be able to use the coworking space, wifi internet and related equipment.
• Networking: Innovators will have the opportunity to get to know organizations, businesses, local institutions and citizens thanks to the facilitation of Netural Coop Impresa Sociale, which will arrange meetings, experiences and proposals to explore the territory, its excellences and stories.
• Travel: Travel expenses will be reimbursed by the organization.

Why Gorizia?

Gorizia, European Capital of Culture 2025, is a city rich in history and culture, located on the border between Italy and Slovenia. It offers a unique opportunity for social innovators to immerse themselves in a multicultural environment, contributing to the regeneration of an evolving urban area.

Netural Coop Impresa Sociale, as part of the project “One thousand years of history at the center of Europe: Borgo Castello crossroads of peoples and cultures,” aims to transform a part of Gorizia into a cultural gathering space.

Casa Netural Gorizia, located on Via Rastello, formerly the main city axis, aims to become a hub for digital nomads, remote workers and curious travelers.

Organiser

Netural Coop is a social enterprise committed to enhancing the unexpressed potential of territories, enterprises and communities. It is based in Matera, where it set up the Casa Netural project in 2012, and works internationally coordinating processes of co-design, civic activation, entrepreneurial development and much more. It was one of the Project Leaders of the Matera 2019 cultural programme, contributing both to the candidacy phases and to the development and management of the Mammamiaaa project.
